Top 10 ten places to visit in South West England - Isles of Scilly
Explore the Scilly Isles on foot

The Isles of Scilly are a walker’s paradise. Coastal paths hug the islands offering splendid views and varied scenery.
There are over 60 miles of footpaths, carefully managed so as to preserve the environment for future generations, whilst catering for the needs of the many walkers who come back regularly to Scilly to enjoy the wonderful tracks on offer.
Many of the paths understandably take in the wonderful coastal scenery. Indeed, given their size, you could if you wish, walk around an entire island in a day, taking in every cove, beach and prehistoric standing stone. You’ll have certainly deserved liquid refreshment in one of the local pubs after that!
There are also some inland gems that should not be missed, including 27 Sites of Special Scientific Interest, which take in important heath, moor and marshland.
Daytime and evening guided walks and tours are available, which look at the wildlife, archaeology and scenery of the isles. Furthermore, maps and guidebooks are available in the Tourist Information Centre so a visit there when you are over should be a must.
