Bowhill House and Country Park

Bowhill House is the Scottish Borders home of the Duke and Duchess of Buccleuch. Dating mainly from 1812  it contains an Internationally renowned art collection, including works by Canaletto, Guardi, Claude, Ruysdael, Gainsborough, Raeburn, Reynolds, Van Dyck and Wilkie. as well as superb French furniture, Meisson and Sevres porcelain, silver and tapestries.  

Visit the completely restored Victorian kitchen, and Bowhill Little Theatre, a lively centre for the performing arts where, prior to touring the house, visitors can see The Quest for Bowhill, a 20 minute audio-visual presentation.
 
Bowhill Country Park is a garden and landscape designed by John Gilpin. It's criss-crossed by scenic footpaths and cycle trails - you can rent mountain bikes from the visitor centre. Explore the exciting adventure playground, woodland, loch and river walks, nature trails and picnic areas.
 
Facilities include a tea room and gift shop.
