Napoleon's Nose and Cave Hill Country Park

From Belfast Castle in the north of the city, several paths lead up to the summit of Cave Hill - a rocky outcrop known as 'Napoleon's Nose.' From here the views of Belfast Lough and the city are unsurpassed. On a clear day you can see the Irish sea and even as far as Scotland.
Cave Hill Country Park has recently undergone a programme of improvements, with facilities including a Visitor Centre, adventure playground, eco-trail, waymarked walking trails, orienteering routes and refreshments from Belfast Castle.
Natural attractions include heath and moorland, the meadows and Milewater Stream in Carr’s Glen Linear Park, the woodlands of Hazelwood and the beautiful surroundings of Belfast Castle estate.
The area is rich in birds and wild plants and land at Ballyaghagan and Hazelwood is designated as a local nature reserve.
