About Ancient House
The Ancient House is considered to be the finest example of the East Anglian tradition of highly decorated plasterwork, or pargeting.

The work dates from about the 1670s, although the house itself is much older; parts of it date back to the early Tudor period. The decorations include depictions of the four then-known continents: Africa, America, Asia, and Europe.
