Located around the east side of the National Gallery, the National Portrait Gallery (founded in 1856) houses portraits of everyone from 19th and 20th century movers and shakers of British society to the more recently famous rock stars, footballers and celebrities.

The Portrait Restaurant
The National Portrait Gallery's 80 seat roof-top restaurant boasts spectacular views over London, and has established itself as one of the capital's most sought after dining areas, set 92 feet above ground level on the third floor of the Gallery's Ondaatje Wing.
Diners can enjoy an unparalleled vista of Nelson in Trafalgar Square and across Whitehall to the Houses of Parliament, Big Ben and the London Eye.

Located in the basement, adjoining the Portrait Café, the Bookshop offers an attractive location in which to browse.
